About the company

The reserve covers an area of 27.52 hectares. In addition to Yanardag - eternal flame natural monument, the reserve contains other examples of material and cultural heritage and natural monuments. These monuments include the "Wolf's Den" cave, two cemeteries with a centuries-old history and rich in ancient chests, a sulfur spring, the still active Qırmaki mud volcano, Qırmaki valley, Ottoman trenches, and Alidashi pier, which is considered sacred by the local population.
Yanar dag natural monument was formed as a result of the combustion of natural gas flows that came to the surface from the depths of the earth. Historical sources from the Middle Ages prove that since ancient times, constant burning flames have been observed in Baku and its surroundings, both on land and on the sea. This is also confirmed by the geological research conducted in the area.
Yanar dag is considered a sacred place by the followers of fire worship and Zoroastrianism.
